About event
Prostredníctvom textov autoriek, autorov a autorských tímov predstavuje pestrú škálu tém a príkladov z rôznych miest Trenčianskeho kraja.

Centre for Architecture Trenčín (CAT) invites you to the launch of its first publication. It offers a broad look at the protection of 20th-century architectural heritage.
📚 The publication raises questions about how heritage protection works in Slovakia, what it is grounded in, how it is applied in practice and what challenges lie ahead. Through texts by individual authors and author teams, it presents a varied range of topics and examples from different towns across the Trenčín Region. Together, these open up space for discussion about what, why and how we protect today, and what value 20th-century architecture holds for future generations.
Admission is free 💸
ℹ️ The event is part of the Days of Architecture series, which this year focuses on housing in the 1950s. Through it, CAT draws attention to the very places we walk past every day without realising their architectural value. Trenčín's Days of Architecture are joining the 16th edition of the Czech festival Den architektury, whose motto this year is "I dwell, therefore I am" and which takes place in many cities in both Czechia and Slovakia.
Photographs and video recordings will be taken at the event and published later.
The event is an activity of the Centre for Architecture Trenčín project, which forms part of Trenčín 2026 European Capital of Culture. Trenčín 2026 is financially supported by the City of Trenčín, the Trenčín Self-Governing Region and the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic. The project's partner is the European Union.
