The premium of the beast is a musical theater composition that combines the original language of the composer Petr Hora with the imagination of director Jiří Austerlitz Adámek and his theater voiceband ensemble Boca Loca. Together with the Berg orchestra, they draw listeners - the viewer into a dreamy fantasy, emotional world of Hor's music.
The production is freely based on the autobiographical book to believe in the beast. In it, the French anthropologist Nastassja Martin copes with a fateful event, when a bear attacked her in field research between the native tribes on Alaska. Her confession moves from the analytical description of events to the border of dreams and myth. From the literary model he focused on the line of out-of-way processes, when after attacking a woman remains a piece of beast and in the beast a piece of woman, when civilization and animal mixes. The mountain uses only a few sentences from the book, which then break down and create a fascinating landscape of sounds. He puts the voice expression of singers, actresses and unintelligence vocal speech of all instrumentalists.
Concept and music: Petr Hora Holičková, Barbora Mišíková (Voice)
Orchestra Berg: Gabriela Barillová (violin / voice), Štěpán Drtina (cello / voice), Martin Debřička (saxophone / voice), Štěpán Janoušek (Trombón / Voice), Jakub Švejnar (drums / voice), Peter Vrábel Havrda
Scenography and Costumes: Petra Vlachynská
premiere: 8 and 9. September 2025, Alfred in Dvůr, Prague
