Präsentation der Mighty Wurlitzer

The Mighty Wurlitzer in our museum is one of the most powerful theater and cinema organs in Europe. It has a total of 1228 pipes and more than 200 registers. There is also a large number of percussion and effect instruments: rumbling thunder, birdsong, howling sirens and ringing bells are just some of the special effects that she has in her sound palette. Werner Ferdinand von Siemens, the grandson of the company founder, acquired it from the Rudolph Wurlitzer Company in the USA in 1929. Jörg Joachim Riehle regularly accompanies silent films on it and knows our museum's largest instrument like no other. He tells their eventful history and lets you hear samples of their sound splendor. The cost of the presentation is included in the museum admission (10 euros, reduced price 5 euros).
