About event
POLIS-BRICKHOUSE BERLIN - Friday, December 12th, 2025
POLIS
The Plauen band Polis stands for extravagant poetry, huge 70s reef walls, jams and sprawling arrangements. With a lot of vintage instruments on stage - especially a real Hammond B3 organ, old amplifiers and vintage synths. A lot of Krautrock is part of Polis' music, as well as psychedelic and elements of progressive rock. With this independent sound, Polis have already played festivals such as the Burg Herzberg, the Aquamaria Festival, the Artrock Festival in Reichenbach and the Woodstock Forever.
From the playful, bluesy prog rock of their 2011 debut album EINS, they developed into the more epic and song-like sound of their second album SEIN from 2014. This introduced a romantic, fragile side to their music. This was followed by concerts at home and abroad and airplay at, among others. Deutschlandradio Kultur and Radio R.SA. A clear turning point in the band's work was the release of their third album WELTKLANG in spring 2020. It was recorded in the self-built studio of the same name, mixed and mastered at Peter Gabriel's creative facility, the Real World Studios in Box, England.
At the end of last year, the band's first live album called “Unterwegs I” was released, which was unanimously praised in the specialist press.

Press:
“A dynamic that is unparalleled in contemporary prog.” Eclipsed Magazine
"Music as if it were out of time - with lyrics full of poetry: The musicians of the band 'Polis' come from the area around Plauen. They were influenced by Krautrock, rock from the 70s and late romantic classical music."
Deutschlandradio Kultur
"Polis play prog rock that takes its time, rediscovers the German language in a special, poetic way, and on Unterwegs I they deliver a total of 66 minutes of sounds that seem like they come from a parallel world in which good comes above everything. With Polis, emotions and spirit are in the foreground and the quintet embodies that in every single minute of their music." Baby blue pages
