EXHIBITION IN MOTION "TREASURES"

A visually powerful story of the Slovak "TREASURES" transformed into an original artistic fusion of traditional folklore and modern pop culture.

Premiere 10.11.2024 in the STARS auditorium in Bratislava

Have you ever asked yourself what a bridge between the past, present and future would look like?

The moving exhibition "TREASURES" brings an answer in the form of an artistic concept of multi-layered art. The professional body Poddukelský umelecký lóvý sóro (PUĽS) and the successful project Party in the 21st century create a synthesis of two artistic worlds - visual and performative. This project offers more than just a static exhibition - the audience is literally drawn into the action. The exhibition uses graphic animations and video projections that create an immersive interactive environment.

Girls in Slovak treasures - parties, symbolizing traditional brides, break down the boundaries between the past and the future. The authenticity in the detailed costumes and the unique contemporary facepainting with respect to the ornamentation of the given regions prove that the beauty and values of Slovak treasures are still relevant. One of the most visually powerful moments is the girls in groups literally "coming out of the picture frames". Through the emotions and experiences of our ancestors, who are preparing for the most extraordinary day of their lives, the viewer becomes part of their story. Movement, music and singing find intersections between music and dance folklore and various modern genres. This contrast creates a dynamic and original experience that will appeal not only to folklore lovers, but also to younger generations.

From traditional Slovak folklore (past) to modern pop-culture (present), the story "TREASURES" erases imaginary boundaries. of these two worlds and offers a living and vibrant legacy for future generations (the future).

The Poddukel Artistic Folk Ensemble, PUĽS for short, is a professional artistic body that was created in 1955 and in its dance, music and singing component there are currently more than 40 artists. It primarily presents the traditions and folklore of the Ruthenians, but also of other regions of Slovakia, recomposing it into a higher scenic form. In its repertoire, it also has dances from the surrounding countries. PUĽS is a unique body, which is visible in the performances, in which the spontaneity of a proud nature is combined with a refined sense of poetics. The concerts of this group are emotional, rich in ideas, the audience has the opportunity not only to relax, but also to absorb a lot of positive energy. He was applauded by spectators in England, Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Holland, Yugoslavia, Canada, Norway, Poland, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Tunisia, the United States of America and Russia

Party at 21 century is a fascinating and unique act that combines the traditions of Slovak parties with modern art. Created by photographers Ľubomír Sab and Zuzana Sénašiová and ethnologist Katarína Sabová, in collaboration with artist painters Sarah Avni and Ivana Mintálová, this project uses the innovative design of ornaments not only on the background of paintings, but also as part of facepaintings. The main goal is to present and revive the rich history of Slovak parties - traditional head decorations that are deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of Slovakia.

The importance and popularity of this art exhibition is also reflected in the international response. During the 10 years of the project's existence, the exhibition represented Slovakia at the world's largest exhibitions or events such as EXPO 2020 in Dubai, The Belt & Road - Culture & Art Festival 2021 in China, or the Olympic Games in South Korea 2018, in China 2022 and in France 2024. The paintings have already been seen by more than 1,200,000 people at 70+ exhibitions in cities such as Brussels, Vienna, Prague, Pyeongchang, Ottawa, Shanghai, Beijing, Guiyang, New York, Washington, Moscow, Berlin, Frankfurt am Main, Bautzen, Istanbul , Izmit or Sofia. The project has thus already earned a place among the significant achievements of Slovak art.
