About event

A funeral feast in honor of the last great living artist, Bertolt Brecht! Let those who knew him come with the idea of honoring his memory. And the others, let them at least come to eat!

Dinner and theater in one, Divadlo LETÍ already offers you some Fridays. You will experience dinner, theater and a funeral in one with us for the first time.

An unknown Czech author is writing a Brechtian play about Brecht, and Brecht is turning in his grave. A non-biographical portrait of a man whose convictions turn a blind eye to survival. Brecht as a theatrical visionary and Brecht as a pragmatist who always kept the back door open. An epic drama about the eternal battle of lust with the conviction of one of the greatest modern playwrights of the time, the draft of which will turn every cloak inside out.

The production is created as part of the celebration of the 20th season of Divadlo LETÍ and is a return to the roots. On stage and behind the scenes, the key personalities of its history meet, its founding member, director Marián Amsler, will appear in an unusual acting role, long-time former artistic director Martina Schlegelová will direct, and current artistic director Marie Špalová will take charge of the dramaturgy.

The world premiere of the original Czech play by the tribal author and dramaturg of Divadlo LETÍ David Košťák in the format of a staged reading follows the dramaturgical line dedicated to prominent personalities of Czech and world social events, including the award-winning production Olga (Horror from Hrádeček). The author of the music is the award-winning composer Aleš Březina.

The creation of the play was supported by a scholarship from the MKČR.

We would like to inform the audience that the beginning of the performance will take place in the open air of the VILA Štvanice Theater in any weather.
