About event
The lion's den began as a performative investigation of the media, political populism and its manipulative powers. Two female performers become the embodiment of physical and visual images inspired by the media space. In a never-ending dance duet, they fall together with the viewer into a symbolic lion's den, which becomes an abyss of uncertainty and ambiguity.
In their new work, Sabina Bočková and Johana Pocková balance on the border between entertainment and depravity, moving from manipulating the viewer to manipulating themselves and oscillating between the roles of leaders and the roles of victims. With unusual lightness and openness of meaning, they pass through well-known figures of socio-cultural references and create a wide space for one's own interpretation, critical thinking and taking a personal position. Jáma lvová is an electrifying performance with heightened emotional charge and high intensity, which, in combination with piercing live music, creates and uses, even abuses, its own atmosphere to create strong emotional pressure.
