About event

Opera legend Plácido Domingo is coming to Bratislava with a spectacular gala evening for his 85th birthday

Bratislava will welcome one of the greatest artists in the world of music. Plácido Domingo will perform on the occasion of his 85th birthday at an exclusive gala concert in the Peugeot Arena, which will take place on March 17, 2026.

The charisma of the legendary singer will be complemented by the art of the Slovak Philharmonic, for which it is an honor to accompany one of the greatest opera masters of all time. The program will include dramatic arias, duets and orchestral compositions from Italian, French and Spanish opera literature.

The evening will also be enriched by three exceptional guests – Pavol Bršlík, a Slovak tenor with an international reputation who shines on stages in Berlin, London and New York. The holder of prestigious awards is known for his brilliant technique and charismatic expression, which makes him one of the most prominent representatives of the Slovak opera generation.

The next star of the evening will be Adriana Kučerová, a soprano prized for her delicacy, coloratura virtuosity and sensitive stage expression. The winner of the prestigious Belvedere competition in Vienna won an audience on international stages and is one of our most successful opera singers.

Teo Gertler, a young Slovak violin virtuoso and winner of the Virtuosos competition, will add a special dimension to the concert. Although he is only a few years old, he performs concerts on important stages at home and abroad and is considered one of the greatest talents of his generation.

Plácido Domingo is one of the greatest personalities in the world of opera and music. During his extraordinary career, he played more than 150 roles, appeared in more than 4,000 performances and won 12 Grammy awards. He became famous not only as a singer of tenor and baritone parts, but also as a conductor, a mentor of young talents and a worldwide ambassador of Spanish culture and the zarzuela genre. His name is forever associated with the legendary Trojtenori project, in which, together with Luciano Pavarotti and José Carreras, they brought opera to millions of viewers around the world and became a symbol of the combination of top art and wide popularity.

Slovak audiences also remember him from 2010, when his first concert in Bratislava was named the event of the year by the media and the maestro surprised the domestic audience with the song Silent Night in Slovak - a moment that was etched in memory as magical and unforgettable.
