About event
ON MONDAY WE WILL DRIVE FOR THE VICTIMS OF TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
🚲 Exactly one month ago, an extraordinary tragedy happened. Two cyclists were killed in a high-speed car accident near the Apollo Bridge. Both young men, aged 23 and 25, came from a community of outcasts before the war in Ukraine. At the same time, we commemorate two years since the tragic accident on Staromestská, where five students aged 19-21 were killed by a high-speed car while waiting for the bus at the Zochova bus stop. Both tragic accidents are connected by high speed, which is aided by the bad design of Bratislava's streets and minimal measures to improve this condition. During the European Mobility Week, there were four more unnecessary deaths of pedestrians and cyclists on Slovakian roads caused by inappropriate driving by motor vehicles. We are sounding the alarm‼
🚲 On Monday, we will go on the Pietna cycle ride, which will start at Náměstí slobody, cross the Apollo Bridge and end at Primaciální náměstí. During the ride, we will appeal to the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic, the Police of the Slovak Republic and the City Hall of Bratislava to start doing something about the critical safety situation for pedestrians and cyclists on the roads and streets not only in Bratislava. At the same time, we will place GHOSTBIKE monuments at the accident site near the Apollo Bridge and remember the victims with a short memorial. We are organizing the event with the support of Critical Mass Bratislava, Cyklo Kuchyňa, Cykloalícia, Cyklospodina, Concerned Mothers, Dajme chanču Šancova, Švihaj Šuhaj, Švihaj Šop (we are adding...).
📢 Prepare your mobile sound systems, banners and candles.
