Experiments in communication through movement
Workshop
Dance technology and approaches to movement research with Daniel Lepkoff and Sakura Shimada. This approach frames this spontaneous material as a "dance composition" and cultivates our ability to improvise.
We examine the details of functional movements: breathing, rolling, stretching, crawling, standing, walking, running, falling; We address all our physical senses; We practice in the observation, the Movement of Attention, accepting stimuli from our surroundings.
We offer specific strategies for exploring our own movement. In every hour we will examine simple movement structures that filter and highlight different aspects of our experience; Both during active work in space and observation.
