Perinbaba
18.12.2024 at 18:00
Sála BDŽ - 196 seats
Perinbaba is one of the most famous winter fairy tales. The name of the miraculous grandmother who takes care of the snow has literally become popular in Slovakia and is used for every decent snowfall. Its popularity is mainly due to the film of the same name by Juraj Jakubiska, without which we could not even imagine Christmas. The Žilina production, like the well-known film version, draws inspiration from Slovak folklore and folk traditions. Using interesting theatrical means, it tells the story of the love of the comedian Jakub and the young mayor's daughter Alžbetka. In addition to Perinbaba, other characters such as Zubatá, the righteous magistrate or the evil stepmother and her stupid daughter Dora will appear in the play.
