A performative-literary-artistic-musical community event on the theme 𝕊𝕃𝕆𝔹𝕆𝔔𝔸
Boris Kriger, in his article Why Humans Do Not Fly: Gravity, Anatomy, and the Metaphysics of Freedom (Why Humans Do Not Fly: Gravity, Anatomy, and the Metaphysics of Freedom) compares the problem of human flight to an unfinished dialogue between body and dream.
Humanity since time immemorial. it longs for wings, and this desire—though biologically absurd—seems to hide a deeper truth about the paradoxes of our existence. Man has always strived to exceed the limits of his possibilities, and the desire for wings is perhaps the most sincere expression of our stubbornness, determination and ability to transform the world into a canvas on which we realize our dreams.
At the same time, we carry echoes of evolutionary trauma within us. Every day we look to the sky and feel that we are beings born for a life bound to the earth - far from the air, from that domain of the gods where so many of the world's mythologies have placed the embodiment of their ideals.
The project Losing_Our_Wings exists within the limits of this dialogue and invites visitors to explore their own dreams and desires - the ones behind are reaching out, even those that have escaped their reach.
The event Losing_our_Wings is, after Embodying_the_Chaos, Reliving_the_Childhood and Friedship_is_Magic, the fourth in the Divadla Panoptikum Connecting_through_Art cycle - this cycle connects the work of the Panoptikum Theater with the work of anyone who wants to participate in the event. At the same time, these events aim to bring quality time spent near art, which is present all around us, but many times beginning artists and artists, or people outside of professional art, cannot present it. That is why we want to bring an open space for this presentation but also for discussions and meetings of other people who create or are interested in art.
Losing_our_Wings will be a performative immersive installation that will combine different types and genres of art within the theme.
The event is made up of: Andrej Purkart, Žofia Kráľová, Sami Furmánek, Juraj Bolf, Patrícia Balajová, Kristína Kanátová, Martina Havierova
