About event
[English below] People of Song - Namibian-German music theater
People of Song is a joint project by a Namibian-German artist collective that combines music, drama and choral singing into a rousing work of art. Born from research into Namibia's cultures and in the phonogram archive of the Ethnological Museum Berlin, the music theater tells of an intensive transnational collaboration that overcomes borders and releases creative energies.
The focus is on the shared vision of using art as a powerful means of making socially relevant topics such as memory, identity and change visible. People of Song is much more than a musical theater project - it is a multi-voiced cultural dialogue that touches, moves and stimulates thought, multi-vocal, emotional and highly topical.
A project as part of the twin town partnerships Windhoek-Berlin and Windhoek-Bremen.
In collaboration with Kulturprojekte Berlin and with the support of the Lotto Foundation Berlin.
