About event
Contemporary dance offers space for both technical and creative dance work, in a pleasant environment and with people with a wide variety of experience and background. In the classes, you will try different shades of contemporary dance through technical exercises and combinations, creative and improvisational tasks and games, but also strengthening or stretching exercises, breath work and relaxing and relaxing exercises.
Our association was created from a dance troupe, in the Labyrinth Center we have a beautiful large hall, which is a testament to the dance. There are from 6 to 12 people in the classes, the class lasts 90 minutes.
We started the open classes of contemporary dance in September 2022 after a pause of several months caused mainly by the pandemic. We offer classes with experienced contemporary dance teacher and active artist Zuzana Burianová, who is occasionally replaced by teacher Renka Gálová and active artists and artists who pass through Žilina, for example if they play a show at Stanica or in the Synagogue, are here in residence, or move somewhere (this is common for dancers).
The classes are conducted in such a way that they are suitable for beginners and advanced students, previous experience with dance is not necessary.
Reservation of a place in advance in the reservation system of the Labyrinth Center is required.
About the teacher: Zuzana Burianová is a dancer, choreographer and teacher of contemporary dance. She is a graduate of dance art at VŠMU in Bratislava, contemporary dance choreography at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, and an interpretation internship at Stavanger University in Norway. He is dedicated to the creation of dance performances, audiovisual projects (dance films), education and workshops developing the perception of movement as a tool of communication. Since 2007, he has led the TDA contemporary dance ensemble and at the same time works on his own projects in Žilina, throughout Slovakia and abroad.
