It's that time again! After the extremely successful start of the tour last year, Oesch's the Third, who have long been superstars of folk music in Switzerland, are coming back to Germany. They present their best-known songs and of course songs from the current album “Händmade”. Oesch's die Third stand for one thing above all: folk music is heart music!
One of the secrets of the family from the Swiss Bernese Oberland is the cross-generational composition of the formation: The siblings Melanie, Mike and Kevin Oesch stand on stage together with their parents Hansueli and Annemarie Oesch and play folk music as if it were the most natural thing in the world. They are complemented by accordionist Urs Meier.
The family tradition began with Hans Oesch's “Trio Oesch”. Son Hansueli continued it with his wife Annemarie and his three children. And because they were already playing music in the third generation, they called themselves the Oesch's the Third.
The success story began in the 90s. Oesch's Third Party had their breakthrough in 2007 by winning the Musikantenstadl's young talent competition. Her CD from this year “Jodel-Zauber” stayed in the Swiss charts for months and reached double platinum. Since then, the Oesch's 27-year success story has been unstoppable, with over 2,000 concerts played and appearances in 15 nations, a total of 16 albums released, of which 7 were awarded gold, 2 were awarded platinum and one was even awarded double platinum. Not to forget the PRIX WALO, with which the group was honored four times.
Melanie Oesch, who is considered the world's best yodeler, impresses with her unique tongue and a stirring stage presence as the lead singer. She has already impressed Helene Fischer with this talent, who invited her to reinterpret her biggest hit “Atemlos” on her TV show.
Annemarie, who is not only the second singer but also plays the piano, and Hansueli, master of the “Schwyzerörgeli”, form the musical foundation. The sons Mike Oesch on bass and Kevin Oesch on guitar form the perfect rhythm section. They are supported by Urs Meier, an accordion perfectionist who, as a trained accordion maker, has a unique approach to playing.
Oesch’s the Thirds stand for joy of life, family solidarity and respect. Their music combines tradition with modernity, and they are not afraid to incorporate elements of country, blues and pop. Whether dialect, German, French, English or Spanish, Oesch's third parties love it varied and rich in contrast.
