About event
#kniznisalon
☀️ The French Dominican Jean-Hervé Nicolas (1910–2001) is one of the most important representatives of contemporary Thomism. He supplemented his comprehensive synthesis of dogmatic theology with a treatise on creation. The considerations traditionally referred to as natural theology represent a part of Christian doctrine that is accessible to the human mind - that is, at least to the philosophically trained. God makes himself known to us here as the source from which everything proceeds, and at the same time the goal to which everything returns. Despite its otherness and infinity, it is intimately present and immediately close to all living things.
🤓 The book is performed by BENEDIKT MOHELNÍK OP – Dominican and theologian. He works at the Department of Systematic Theology and Philosophy of KTF UK. He is a member of the editorial board of the Salve magazine and the director of the Dominikánská 8 platform. He translated, among other things, the second part of Nicolas's work into Czech. href="https://krystal.op.cz/teologie-2/synteza-dogmaticke-teologie-iv/">https://krystal.op.cz/teologie-2/synteza-dogmaticke-teologie-iv/

🫖 The book salon is an opportunity to get acquainted with the new books of the Krystal OP publishing house over a cup of tea, to meet their authors, translators, editors, Dominican men and women, and above all with other readers.
🪑 The evenings are performed and the books are presented by invited guests who participated in the creation of the selected books or whose topic is somehow close to them. Everyone present can actively co-create the evening, share their thoughts and ask questions. However, it is not at all necessary to have it pre-loaded. The spoken word alternates with musical inputs.
🎧 The audio recording of the meeting will be available on YouTube, Spotify, Apple podcasts and Soundcloud Dominican 8.
