Očima kurátorů: Lilie: květina a symbol

Commented tour of the graphics cabinet in the exhibition Old Masters I. in the Schwarzenberg Palace with Alena Volrábová, curator of the NGP Graphics and Drawings Collection.

Participants will imagine the depiction of picturesque lily flowers as a symbol of purity, and also just as an artistic capture of the plant. They will see works by Albrecht Dürer, Václav Hollar, Alfons Mucha or Jan Zrzavý and others.

The cycle Curators' eyes brings the perspective of those who work with art collections on a daily basis, take care of them and examine them in detail. In each meeting, the curator focuses on a selected part of the exhibition, shares the topics of his research, key questions and draws attention to details that normally remain hidden. The interpretation combines expert insight with an accessible form and invites an open dialogue.
