Objavovanie Prešova: Storočnica Prešovskej knižnice

In October, we will explore the history of the P. O. Hviezdoslav Regional Library in Prešov, which has been serving its readers for 100 years. We will show the first and later locations of the library from the Town Hall, through Čierny Orol, the Regional Court, the Collegium, the Municipal School to Bosákova banka. We will talk about how not only its appearance changed, but also the names from folk, to district to regional, how people used to go to the library and what the membership was like, and who was responsible for its development. We will end our journey at the new library headquarters with the possibility of a tour for a symbolic additional fee of €1.

You can learn about the century-old story of the Prešov library on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 2 p.m.*. We will meet in front of the Tourist Information Center in Prešov at Hlavná 67. Andrea Sivaničová will accompany you.
