About event
A guided tour of the permanent exhibition Old Masters II with Jitka Handlova in the Šternber Palace will introduce important patrons and supporters of the predecessor of the National Gallery Prague. Visitors can take a look at the SVPU Gallery and see the works of Dutch and other masters, which would not be hanging here without generous donors. We will talk about Josef Hoser, Jan Nepomuk Kaňka, the Prince of Liechtenstein and Bedřich Silva-Tarouc.
A tour as part of the series About art up close. The possibility to explore the selected topic in more detail! It will focus on specific parts of the collections and pay closer attention to them. Each tour offers a new perspective on a certain topic and places it in a wider context that helps to better understand the whole.
