Participants will meet at the Tycho Brahe and Jan Kepler statues and walk through Pohořelc, Loretánská Street across the square to Loreto and Capuchins. From the hill down Černínská street, we will reach Nové Svět, which they will explore in detail, ending the walk in front of the church of St. John of Nepomuk in Kapucínská street.

Nový Svět grew up in the valley of the Brusnice stream, along the old pedestrian path from the Břevnov Monastery to Prague Castle along the wall of the Capuchin monastery garden. The original inhabitants were poor people, bound by service to the castle, the cathedral, Loreto or one of the nearby palaces. Unhealthy damp environment, little sunlight, no sewage system, numerous families in one room - this was the daily reality. As time went on, living conditions improved, the number of people in the rooms decreased, and the former slum character changed to a picturesque and even old-world one. It's no wonder that the place enchanted artists, bohemians and everyone who just comes here for pleasure.
