Cabaret is a word of French origin, meaning: entertainment venue where musical and humorous scenes are performed. The history of cabaret began in France, in 1881, when amateur or professional actors and singers performed chansons, satirical poems, humorous scenes and parodies in restaurants and pubs. The target of these was usually
the ruling class of the time. In the beginning, the performers improvised the texts, only later did they perform pre-written and thoroughly rehearsed numbers. The cabaret therefore starts its conquest from France to spread to other countries as well. He came to us before the First World War. Many excellent artists have dealt with this trend. Among others, Béla Salamon, Gyula Kabos, Kálmán Latabár. After the war, entire associations were formed. The level and function of the domestic cabaret differed slightly from that of the foreign cabaret. The cabaret was created from the fusion (ensemble) of several trends and its main task is to educate and entertain in a humorous, playful manner.
