About event
We cordially invite you to the sixth concert of the cycle (Un)known music 2024 - Jozef Podprocký - String quartets.
🎶 MUCHA QUARTET performs
Juraj TOMKA - 1st violin, Jozef OSTROLUCKÝ - 2nd violin, Veronika KUBEŠOVÁ - viola, Pavol MUCHA - cello
🗓 Wednesday, October 30, 2024 🕕 6 p.m.
📌 Dom Albrechtovcov, Kapitulská 1, Bratislava
🎻 The concert will feature the first four of the six string quartets of Jozef Podprocký, whose 80th birthday we are commemorating this year. Each quartet is unique, but all are united by the author's distinctive expressive handwriting. String Quartet No. 1, Op. 15 is a youthful work full of energy interspersed with folk quotes. String Quartet No. 2, Op. 21 experiments with aleatorics and sonoristics, while String Quartet no. 3, op. 27 pays tribute to Béla Bartók, especially in the rhythmic-metrical and modal structure. The concert will be closed by the String Quartet No. 4, Op. 37, which is the most sonically powerful.
🛒 Admission: €5 / €3 students, pensioners / children under 15 free
Tickets will be available 1 hour before the concert at the venue.
