It is an emotional performance in which the actress Jana WernerovΓ‘ also deals with her own past.

It is a difficult story, especially because it is based on a real event that happened in the 1980s in PreΕ‘ov. It features a high school student who, out of fear of her family, hid the fact that she was expecting a child. The anxiety that accompanied her throughout her pregnancy led her to throw the newborn out of the window of the block of flats.

Writer Jana BodnΓ‘rovΓ‘ was inspired by the event. In 2008, she wrote the stage play Girl from the bottom of the sea. She named the young woman Lea. In her story, she finds herself in a psychiatric hospital. As part of the therapy, she returns to her childhood and uncovers the traumas that led her to the tragic act. The play was recently staged by Divadlo Na perΓ³ne in KoΕ‘ice.

"At first I didn't like the play because it seemed too personal," says actress Jana WernerovΓ‘, who played the character of Ley. "When I read it a second time, I realized how many connections it has with my childhood and that it was time to deal with it."
