About event
A story about love, understanding and the art of "starting to live again" at any age
In a magical setting on the shores of the Golden Lake, a married couple spends the summer in a pension. Norman is a perpetually chattering, impractical and occasionally forgetful professor, while his wife, Ethel, looks after the shared household with unfailing grace and nobility. However, their peaceful summer days are unexpectedly disturbed by the arrival of daughter Chelsea with her partner and his stubborn son Billy. This visit forces Norman out of his lethargy and proves to everyone present that it is never too late to start a new life, even the most ordinary one.
Ernest Thompson's world-famous play On the Golden Lake is one of the highlights of contemporary dramatic creation. Her unique performance score won the hearts of audiences worldwide, including the iconic 1981 film adaptation starring the legendary Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn, which won three Academy Awards. A touching, funny and wise story about aging, intergenerational understanding and the strength of family bonds is a celebration of life that will not leave you cold.
Come and see for yourself the timelessness of the shores of the Golden Lake, where even after years the most important story of your life can take place.
Starring: Ladislav Frej / Jan Vlasák, Simona Stašová, Marika Procházková, Vasil Fridrich / Jan Teplý Jr. , Jaromír Nosek / Karel Zima / Radim Kalvoda, Jakub Jan Černý / Filip Antonio / Michal Pazderka / Kryštof Zapletal / Jan Dlouhý / Jiří Dlouhý
