About event
"Gentle Revolution" is the story of society's nonviolent resistance to the decaying regime of the Communist Party. However, even this historical turning point and the "new" narratives about it are today ammunition in the hybrid and cognitive war for the form of democracy.
Myths about life in the former regime and the course of events of November 1989, spread on social networks, test our critical thinking and attack the optimistic memory of our parents or grandparents. They create space for new polarizing lines in society.
The discussion on the occasion of the celebration of freedom and democracy will bring a meeting with people who directly participated in the social and political events before and after November 1989, as well as with leading experts, historians, economists, who will focus on the deconstruction of widespread myths and manipulations associated with the period before November 1989 and with life in the former regime.
