About event
The Fata Morgana greenhouse will come alive with hundreds of flying butterflies who will light up the space with their brightly colored wings and offer a fascinating view of their life cycle. 🦋
This year the exhibition focuses on the topic of lure - as the plants attract these fine pollinators. Unlike bees, which collect pollen primarily into pollen baskets on their feet, butterflies transmit pollen passively, but use their entire body, allowing them to cover the wider area and pollinate plants distant apart. Butterflies are masters in pollination of hard -to -reach flowers. Thanks to their long sosaks, they can also visit tubular flowers and orchid flowers with long spurs, which makes them irreplaceable helpers of nature. In addition, they can also attach to very thin flowers, which allows them to pollinate even those plants that are unavailable for other pollinators. 🌸
lure at butterflies takes place mainly during mating. Some champions fly kilometers in search of females. The masters are tropical Martináčs, night butterflies, which you will see again at the exhibition in full beauty. 🦋❤️🦋
If you are lucky, you can witness the stunning moment when the butterfly hatches from the hood in an adult. This miraculous process will be an unforgettable experience for you. 9.00–19.00 (Monday closed, except Easter Monday 21. 4.)
