Two-day fashion workshop

08. + November 9th | 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The two workshops build on each other, but can also be attended individually.

Day 2: "My clothes speak" We build on the experiences from the previous day - your clothes can consciously serve as a medium for statements, attitude and self-empowerment. Outfits can speak – about what is important to us, what we want to express or change. To do this, we examine existing clothing with slogans and how we could change the message. We implement the ideas using collage technology, embroidery, textile printing or cut-outs. This is how you develop a personal piece of clothing that says something about you. We would then like to present and stage it in a photo shoot, a mini-performance or installation.

Day 1 (November 8th):“Clothing, Body, Identity” We explore our perception of clothing. It is full of symbols and associated with feelings: an expression of identity in the current fashion context and a trigger for memories. We sensitize ourselves to the sign language of clothing. We invent roles, outfits and stories using photographic material and clothing. Newly designed outfits and role play in “costume” allow us to test out how we appear. Finally, we collect our experiences, also preparing for the following day:

The project is a cooperation between the costume collective e.V. and WeTeK Berlin gGmbH and is supported by the Mitte district office of Berlin, environmental office, environmental education department.
