About event
starring: Toni Servillo, Anna Ferzetti and others | script: Paolo Sorrentino | camera: Daria D'Antonio | Italy | length 131′
In the original version with Czech subtitles.
Mariano De Santis is the president. He is not a real character, but a figment of the author's imagination. A widower, a Catholic, his daughter Dorothea is a lawyer just like him. The seemingly dull end of his mandate is disrupted by his final tasks: he must resolve two delicate pardon applications. He finds himself faced with great moral dilemmas that are inextricably intertwined with his private life. Doubts plague him, but the verdict must be given. As befits a true president of the Italian Republic, he will make a decision with a deep sense of honor and responsibility.
