6th year of the FMU Doctoral Conference
Between tradition and avant-garde: Folkloric impulses in the music of the 20th century
The Faculty of Performing Arts of the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica invites you to the 6th year of the Doctoral Conference. The event creates a professional platform for doctoral students from the domestic faculty and other art schools, who focus on the issue of performing arts in their scientific and artistic activities.
The conference is profiled as a prestigious forum with a high level of contributions and the participation of leading experts. The professional guarantor of the event is Professor Marian Lapšanský, who has been initiating the participation of important guests from the musical and musicological environment for a long time. Traditionally, the program also includes chamber concerts dedicated to artistic personalities connected with the conference.
The general director of the Slovak Philharmonic, Marián Turner, takes over the patronage of the event every year.
Professional outputs from the conference are published in the peer-reviewed Proceedings, which is published at two-year intervals.
