About event
Leonidas Kavakos for the first time in Slovakia!
Leonidas Kavakos is a Greek violin virtuoso, who has long been one of the most outstanding classical music figures in the world. He established himself on the international scene as a young performer, winning prestigious competitions such as the Paganini Competition, Sibelius Competition, Naumburg and Indianapolis. Today he performs as a soloist and conductor with the world's most important orchestras.
He will perform in Bratislava for the first time ever – as a guest of the project Masterclasses of world violin virtuosos, in the framework of which he will lead exceptional masterclasses for young violinists. Part of the master classes will be a solo concert, at which he will perform together with the chamber ensemble ApollΩn Ensemble, composed of excellent young Greek musicians, awarded at international competitions.
The project is implemented with the financial support of the VÚB Foundation and the Stadler–Trier Music Foundation. The project was supported by the Art Support Fund from public sources.
