Discussion format LQ - Literary Quotient has been trying since 2016 to be the fulfillment of a long-term call for a critical reflection of contemporary literary creation in Slovakia. At the center of each edition of the program are always two distinctive original literary works. The selection criterion is the relevance of the title or the degree of its resonance in the domestic cultural environment.

FOREIGNNESS
Anna Siedykh writes in the collection Foreignness in two languages: in her native Ukrainian and in Slovak. , which became her second home. A unique space is created in the poems, in which Ukrainian and Slovak intermingle, hold a conversation and refer to each other. Poems are not translations, but confessions that come from the proximity and at the same time from the diversity of languages and contexts. They reflect the confidence that language is not only a means of communication, but also the embodiment of collective and individual memory. The young author does not deny her eagerness to discover the world, but at the same time she encounters the cruelty of this time, the war, which affects and changes everything. Siedykh's work is unique in Slovak literature and brings an unexpected enrichment of Slovak and Ukrainian culture, which arose under these extraordinary tragic circumstances.
The book was published by OZ FACE.

STRMHLAV, SLEIPňÁJÚC
The third book by Viliam Nádaskaya Strmhlav, SLEIPňÁJÚC consists of several building blocks: an elegiac composition, interwoven with poems about the nature of writing, thematic texts whose central motif is the cut, and prose-texts-examples. The central theme is, as with the previous two books, the deficiency of the world and its increasing meaninglessness, the necessity of escaping or leaving. At this point, the poet's knowledge of the world comes to skepticism, resignation to any integrity, and finally to reconciliation with the state in which the various subjects and characters of his poems find themselves. The author's poetry tends towards clearer modalities, but even so, here and there there is bitter laughter at the absurdities of life.
The book was published by the Vlna publishing house.

About books, their similarities and differences, Anna Štičková, Ivana Hostová and Eva Urbanová will discuss with the moderator Peter Darovac.
