A website for an author who does not exist, a "choose-you-down- adventure" hotline, and several albums whose texts treat fictional adventures of equally fictional characters, all are linked to each other-Lord Huron True master in storytelling. With their unique mix of folk indie music and a multimedia approach, they create a digital treasure hunt for everyone. This extraordinary project was launched by Ben Schneider, who grew up in Michigan and often visited Huronsee during his childhood - a source of inspiration that is still reflected in the band name and music. After studying art and short stays in France and New York, Schneider moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to work as an artist.
During a home daily shop in 2010, he recorded three songs, which were later published as debut EP "Into the Sun". Shortly afterwards the second EP "Mighty" followed, and Lord Huron increasingly got more attention in the modern folk rock scene. In order to be able to play the first concerts, Schneider put together a band - and hired his childhood friends Mark Barry (Percussion), Miguel Briseño (bass) and Tom Renaud (guitar). As a 12-year-old, they had made music together-a connection that can be felt to this day.
2012 the debut album "Lonesome Dreams" appeared, with which fans were able to immerse themselves even deeper into the interwoven world of stories of Lord Huron: the band created the figure of a fictional author, whose alleged works form the basis of its songs. These stories are carried by a musical mix of country, western and folk elements that create an unmistakable, nostalgic atmosphere. The successor "Strange Trails" was released in 2015 - and the single "The Night We Met" was a real megahit, not least thanks to the use in the successful series "13 Reasons Why", which is still among the 40 mostly streamed songs of all time. With their third album "Vide Noir" they made the previous success and made it into the top 5 of the US album charts. The album "Long Lost", which was released in 2021, continues the musical and narrative thread by picking up old characters and adding new ones.
In addition to their albums, Lord Huron also earned a call as an outstanding live band. You could already prove this at large festivals such as the Coachella, Lollapalooza or the Newport Folk Festival. Fans also enter their world at their own concerts, which reinforces the pull effect of this unique music with every detail. In autumn 2025 Lord Huron return to the stage, making two stops in Germany - if you want to experience this magic live, you should quickly secure tickets!
