Respect festival says: Lizz Wright (USA)
One of the largest modern American singers blues, jazz and gospel with a voice like a bourbon matured in barrels
Angel voice, charismatic expression, earthy and soulful songs and great accompanying band. Lizz Wright offers all this in a rarely balanced combination, spiced up with the tradition of African -American spiritual music and blues. She sailed on her jazz scene with her own in the early millennium, when she recorded the admired debut Salt (2003). With the growing share of authorial work, the artistic truth of Lizz Wright was gradually revealed and has deepened its inimitable ability to mix the original color from the music palette, which is a place for gospel, folk, jazz, pop and blues. He returns to Prague with his latest album Shadow (2024). Soulful Songs And A Great Backing Band. Lizz Wright Offers All This In A Rare Balanced Combination, Spiced With the Tradition of African American Spiritual Music and Blues. She Burst Onto the Jazz Scene with an Esprit All Her Own at the Beginning of the Millennium, Recording games Still Admired debut Salt (2003). As Her Output of Original Work Grew, Lizz Wright’s Artistic Veracity Gradually Became More and More Apparent, Deepening Her Inimitable Ability to Mix Original Color From and Musical Palette That Has Room for Gospel, Folk, Jazz, Pop and Blues.
