Presentation by Lotte Schreiber and Lisa Schmidt-Colinet (founding members of the Living For Future assembly)

Living For Future

As part of the Emerging Fields module in Architecture (++), HB2, TU Vienna

++

The Emerging Fields in Architecture module conveys current knowledge from new research fields in architecture - and engineering disciplines, with the aim of current and future To address design challenges in a broader social context in an interdisciplinary and fundamental manner. The lectures convey knowledge about different and interdisciplinary approaches to design, current developments and results in materials and construction methods research, about planning and building under/in extreme conditions as well as about structures that change or develop due to changing parameters.

In this context, strategies for design development (from the initial idea to implementation) are questioned in interdisciplinary discourse, and the question of how the path from idea to realization can be shaped and to what extent it is possible to be systematically creative is examined to be.

Do it yourself!

1 property - 2 houses - 11 apartments - 1000 friends - 0 speculation

What simple construction and living with the seasons have to do with socially just living.

Lotte Schreiber and Lisa Schmidt-Colinet are founding members of the assembly group and

talk about the residential project in Vienna Penzing. The assembly project emerged as the winner of a property development competition run by wohnfonds_wien in 2020. A central concern of Living for Future is to create long-term affordable housing and to prevent speculation in housing. A resource-saving building enables conscious living behavior that responds to different seasons.
