LETO V GALÉRII 1 / FOTOLABORATÓRIUM

The Central Slovak Gallery invites you to the first cycle of four planned summer creative mornings for children aged 8 to 13. This introductory course focuses on the old techniques of cameraless photography. Children are waiting for a trip to the past and to the very beginnings of photography. They will try taking photos without a camera using the camera obscura and photogram techniques, including developing photos in a darkroom. Creative workshops inspired by the artist Otis Laubert, experiments in the photo chamber and the connection of painting, collage and photography are also prepared.

Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Adventure of old photographers
A trip to the past and to the beginnings of photography. The oldest preserved photograph is celebrating two hundred years. How did this whole photography adventure begin? We will get to know the camera obscura technique and the method of photography based on the light sensitivity of silver. In the photo chamber, we will also try taking pictures without a camera using the photogram technique.

Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Ready-made and the Otis Laubert exhibition
Playful activities await us at the Otis Laubert exhibition: Art could even heal you. We will try to use ordinary things of everyday use and create our own collections, which we will take pictures of. We will also recall the photographic experiments of the Dadaists from the first third of the twentieth century.

Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Photo-experiments
Experimentation in the photo chamber, where we will try to combine painting, collage and photography. Maybe we will be able to create a coded message or a secret link in the photo.
