⛴Why don't huge ships sink? How did shipping develop from the first wooden vessels to modern ocean liners? The answers will be provided by the interactive workshop 🐟Origami on water🐟, which is part of the summer program in SteelPark.
Participants will embark on a fascinating journey through the history of seafaring🚣 and discover the physical principles that allow ships to safely float on the surface of the water. ⚓They will get to know interesting stories from the history of shipping and through practical activities, they will discover what the stability and carrying capacity of vessels depends on.
In the creative part, they will assemble paper vessels with their own hands using the origami technique and then test them on the water surface. By experimenting, they will find out the significance of the shape of the ship and why physics plays a decisive role in its sailing.
