Annotation:
Manosphere refers to a decentralized network connecting various online communities, individual actors and a diverse digital environment. Today, it represents a diverse set of collective identities built primarily in the online space through influencers who focus on spreading hatred towards women, deepening the ability to seduce them, rejecting feminism and spreading the hypermasculine ideal. From a radical right-wing environment, it is increasingly growing into the mainstream, and current trends often target men seeking to change their image and build a strong body constitution or business success. But an extremely dangerous ideology is hidden behind the seemingly development activities. It is also socially problematic that the target group of the manosphere is typically very young boys. The lecture will link general information from research on the manosphere and its typology with examples from the Czech environment and emphasize the economic aspects of the phenomenon as well as the negative impact of social media algorithms.
