About event
How can the traumatic experience of one generation be reflected in the lives of its descendants❓
Operation Asanace was the cover name of the communist State Security operation from the turn of the 70s and 80s, with which the communist regime in Czechoslovakia wanted to force uncomfortable people, especially signatories of Charter 77, to leave Czechoslovakia. 🌍Altogether, about 280 signatories of Charter 77 were forced to emigrate in this way.
🧠 The lecture deals with the psychological effects of this action, during which the StB used various forms of psychological and physical coercion and blackmail. We focus on the generation of direct participants, dissidents who were forced to leave their country in the years 1977-1984, and on the descendants - the second and third generations. We are interested in how a traumatic situation is transformed over the years, what it brings to the continuing lineage. 🧬
