WHAT IS CYANOTYPE?
Imagine the moment when light becomes a brush. Simply pure visual poetry.
Cyanotype is a historical photographic technique from the 19th century that uses the power of the sun to create iconic blue-and-white images.

You apply a light-sensitive layer to the paper and create your own composition from various objects – for example, leaves, flowers, feathers or a photographic negative. The image begins to emerge gradually and when you immerse it in clear water, it miraculously transforms into an intense, deep Prussian blue.

However, behind this seemingly simple process there is a little alchemy – working with light-sensitive chemistry, mixing solutions correctly, preparing the paper, playing with light or a UV lamp and precise exposure timing.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS

Do I have to bring something with me?
You don't have to bring anything with you, all the necessary materials will be provided on site. You just need to come in comfortable clothes.

However, it is possible to bring 2D transparent aids: paper cutouts, pressed natural objects, transparent textiles or anything that suits you in the composition and can be squeezed between 2 glasses.

Where are the premises of your workshop?
You can find the workshop by looking at the big green door, right next to our Lab.cafe. You go down the stairs, turn left and you are there.

Is the workshop also suitable for children?
We recommend the workshop for children aged 12 and over.
