The topic of children's feet continues to be very topical and often discussed - both among experts and in the lay public. However, only minimal attention is paid to it within the study of medical fields, and outdated knowledge is often presented that does not reflect the current functional direction of physiotherapy.
During the course, we will familiarize you with the concept of modern differential diagnosis of postural disorders of the children's foot and with the selection of suitable and effective therapeutic approaches. We will review the development of the foot during ontogenesis and all its main functions – static, dynamic and sensory. We will remind ourselves of functional anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics. We will also focus on clinical and instrumental examination of children's feet (including clinical tests and podoscope). The theoretical part will also include information about appropriate footwear and barefoot issues. The orthopedist's view of children's flat feet will provide a valuable addition to the topic.
The practical part of the course includes training of individual examination and therapeutic techniques in pairs. An integral part is also several video demonstrations of individual areas.
