About event
"The intention of this publication is to point out the fundamental contradiction between the foreign policy priorities of Slovakia on the one hand and the activities of domestic actors of Russian influence on the other." - Grigorij Mesežnikov
We invite you to the presentation of the book Who Plays Russian Roulette with Slovakia on Monday, October 20. from 18:00 to Košice's Artfor on Hlavná ul.
The book will be presented by its authors Grigorij Mesežnikov, Patrik Haburaj and Domitián Zahorjan from NEST - the Institute for New Security Threats.
The debate will be moderated by Saša Petrašová.
The book Who Plays Russian Roulette with Slovakia answers key questions regarding Russian influence activities and propaganda - who spreads it, how we (not) defend against it, what it causes in our society, how Slovak politicians and actors in the online space contribute to it, and why the tools of hybrid warfare are a huge challenge and threat. Texts by sociologists, security analysts and political scientists clearly reveal the world of pro-Russian narrative spreaders, their sources and communication techniques.
In addition to mapping the pro-Kremlin scene on various social networks, the publication also includes an analysis of the domestic political impact of Russian aggression against Ukraine, the attitudes of political parties and constitutional officials, as well as public opinions on this conflict.
The book was compiled by the author collective Ján Bartoš – Zora Bútorová – Patrik Haburaj – Rastislav Káčer – Grigorij Mesežnikov – Tomáš Nociar – Domicián Zahorjan.
We are organizing the event in cooperation with the publishing house Mamaš.
Entrance is free.
We look forward to seeing you at bookstores📚️
