About event
For centuries, humans have tried to make the world predictable and orderly, but in times of climate emergency it is becoming increasingly clear that life cannot be planned, controlled or tamed. Moles undermine well-maintained golf courses, carnivores eat monotonous spruce plantations, weeds return to the joints of interlocking pavements, fungi sabotage development projects, and cetaceans attack motorboats.
Mole stone cyanide is a theatrical performance created in collaboration with KALD DAMU students and the ResisTerra research team at the University's Faculty of Humanities Karlovy.
The unpredictability, rebelliousness, and savagery of non-human beings emerges in moments when events begin to unfold differently from what humans originally intended. The performance mole stone cyanide examines various forms of resistance of non-human beings who rebel against the anthropocentric system.
We want to show that we were never herex samx, and every event in the history of events was more than human. It makes no sense to protect nature from the position in which we separate man from the world in which he lives. We are nature defending itself.
Based on ethnographic research and the texts of other anthropologists, she brings to the stage stories about a world in which safety, care and the future are not only the rights of people. The audience is invited to stay with the predicament – to listen to non-human voices and to imagine a world with more interspecies solidarity.
The performance will be interpreted into sign language by the organization KukátkOO.
