CROSSROADS OF CREATIVITY
Exhibition of students' works of the visual arts department
ARTISTIC JOURNEY
From the first strokes to the author's expression
Basic The Miloš Balgavý Art School cordially invites you to the exhibition entitled Crossroads of Creativity, which maps the complex development of the creative thinking of our students over the last months. From enthusiastic little artists in preschool age to the mature ideas of high school students and adult school pupils.
The exhibition presents a dynamic dialogue from classical disciplines (drawing, painting, graphics, modeling with clay) to experimental approaches (lamination, assemblage, collages, prolages), with an emphasis on practicing art techniques to one's own artistic language.
The exhibition itself is divided into three parts:
I. SPACE AND SHAPE
(sculpture, relief, object, utilitarian creation)
• Breathing surface – spatial works focused on the play of light and shadow
• Ceramic design – plant motifs captured in the form of a decorative ceramic tile
• Object – dreamy paper objects inspired by architecture and surrealism
II. EMOTIONS AND IDENTITY
(drawing, painting)
• Geometry – a series of painted portraits inspired by cubism and geometric abstraction
• Line – abstract drawings with emphasis on working with line and its forms (rhythm, gradation, raster, structure)
• Story in the window – narrative images full of fantasy and children's imagination
III. LIGHT
(graphics, textile creation)
• Textile poetry – precisely processed textile works with a focus on various textile techniques, with the motif of moths and insects
• Footprint – graphic technique of linocut from the first touches with a trowel and leaving a relief mark and subsequent impression to author's motifs realized as a print on a paid bag.
• Seasons – atmospheric changes of light captured in a series of autumn and winter motifs
The Crossroads of Creativity exhibition is a manifesto of education through art. It demonstrates that the Basic Art School is a place where talent is born, discovered, developed and matured. Through art, it shapes the view of the world around us through the prism of humanism and leads us to mutual tolerance.
