KONFERENCIA: Kultúrne domy - monumenty doby?

The city of Banská Bystrica and the Cultural center Robotnícky dom cordially invite you to the conference: Cultural houses - monuments of the time? with the subtitle What they were, what they are and what they could be.

The theme of the conference, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Robotnícke dom in Banská Bystrica, is the examination of the legacy of the past in the present world, the importance of cultural houses, their staff and activities in Slovakia. What position did they have in cultural politics at the time of their creation? What kind of transformation have they gone through, what makes them unique today and where are they heading?

The goal of the event: to create a platform for networking, discussion and exchange of experiences in a community of people who are relevant, who dedicate their creativity and sometimes their life mission at work to culture, just like us. We want to talk about the common vision and direction of the houses of culture. We want to connect with other experts and leaders on selected topics and learn more! Get inspiration, practical knowledge and establish new contacts and cooperation.

📍 Location: Robotnícky dom, Robotnícka 3, Banská Bystrica

The event will have an interactive two-day format, you can choose to participate in one or both conference days, depending on your interest.

1️⃣. day: The journey of cultural houses from architectural renewal to program innovations to visual identity and relationship with today's audience.

2️⃣. day: Practical challenges of operating cultural centers - from financing and technical support to the development and retention of qualified experts.
