The Czech Environmental Information Agency (CENIA) is organizing the 7th edition of the Environment - environment for life conference. The conference will traditionally take place on November 19 and 20, 2026 in the Balling Hall of the National Technical Library in Prague.
The aim of this two-day conference is to create a space for the meeting of experts and the general public interested in the environment in all its forms and to open a space for discussion of current environmental challenges, both at the national and international level.
In particular, research teams involved in the projects of the Environment for Life program, whose provider and implementer is the Technological Agency of the Czech Republic, are invited to present and actively participate. If the lecture capacity is not filled, we will be happy to give space to other project teams from other research programs whose focus corresponds to the priorities of the program and the conference itself. (The inclusion of contributions will be decided by the program committee.)
Thursday, November 19, 2026 will be dedicated to the presentation of the results of the project Center for Environmental Research: Waste and Circular Economy and Environmental Safety (CEVOOH), which is financed by the Environment for Life program and coordinated by CENIA. The CEVOOH project focuses on research into the transformation of the Czech Republic from a linear economy model to a circular economy. His main areas of interest include not only waste and recycling management itself, but also the development and testing of new tools for its monitoring, the creation of indicators, product life cycle analysis, eco-design, pollution monitoring, including newly emerging contaminants, and the use of technologies such as remote sensing for the detection and elimination of environmental risks. An important part of the project is also the area of environmental safety, accident prevention, cyber security and social acceptance of environmental and technological risks. The center also provides research and professional support in the creation of strategies, policies and regulations for the Ministry of the Environment, other state institutions, professional platforms and partner organizations.
Friday 20 November 2026 will include presentations of other projects supported by the Environment for Life program, which is guaranteed by the Ministry of the Environment and which supports applied research, development and innovation in the field of the environment. Alternatively, contributions from other research programs will also be heard in accordance with the conference themes.
