The goal of the popularization lecture in the field of biotechnology will be to bring the issue closer to a wider audience of listeners without previous experience with the mentioned topic. We will talk about what biotechnologies are, what main branches of biotechnologies we know and what their contribution is to society. We will also talk about the history, present and future perspectives of biotechnologies. The speaker will be mensan Matúš Hornáček, who professionally deals with the issue of biotechnology.

Lecturer: mensan Ing. Matúš Hornáček, Ph.D., EUR ING, Ing.Paed.IGIP

is a graduate of biotechnology at FCHPT STU in Bratislava and biomedicine at the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. He holds the international professional certification of highly qualified engineers in the field of chemical technologies and pedagogical education focused on teaching technical and natural science subjects. He has been devoted to topics from the field of biotechnology for a long time, worked on domestic and international scientific projects in the field of basic and applied research and is a member of important scientific societies. He received a number of awards for his scientific works. Currently, he mainly focuses on pedagogy and is interested in the economic side of biotechnology.
