Lecture by Stefan Woltran

AI - opportunities, challenges, applications

As part of the Emerging Fields in Architecture module (++), lecture series: PERSPECTIVES, HB2, TU Wien

++

The Emerging Fields in Architecture module conveys current knowledge from new ones Research fields in architectural and engineering disciplines, with the aim of addressing current and future design challenges in a broader social context in an interdisciplinary and fundamental manner. The lectures convey knowledge about different and interdisciplinary approaches to design, current developments and results in materials and construction methods research, about planning and building under/in extreme conditions as well as about structures that change or develop due to changing parameters.

In this context, strategies for design development (from the initial idea to implementation) are questioned in an interdisciplinary discourse, and the question of how the path from idea to realization can be shaped and to what extent it is possible to be systematically creative is examined.< /p>

HB2 Lecture Series: Perspectives

Embedded in the module Emerging Fields in Architecture, the lecture series reflects perspectives in the WS 2024 current and future challenges of planning and building in a broader social, ecological and technological context. The lectures and discussions will address, among other things, the questions: What kind of future do we want to create? What role(s) does architecture play in this? What tools and technologies are available to us for this? What visions are there and where do they lead? What can we learn from other disciplines for sustainable architecture? And what lessons can be learned from the past for future projects?
