Kayo Dot is one of the rare groups whose style is recognizable immediately. The main project of the composer, singer and multi -instrumentalist Toby Driver is based on extreme metal, but genre orthodoxy has always been outstanding. Rock instrumentation is complemented by brass and string instruments, black and doom metal intertwine with contemporary classics, gothic or ballads, dreams and gentle moods alternate aggressive and neurotic darkness, often during the same composition. Driver's compositional style is a complex, but never self -purposeful, demanding, but still tightly tied to emotions. And even after twenty years it is still evolving.
Driver et al. last in Prague they showed up in 2023 on the anniversary of the Choirs of the Eye debut, and the successful tour was also at the birth of the new album Every Rock, Every Half-Truth Under Reason, which is released on the Labels Tzadik, Hydrahead or Flenser. Kayo Dot after the “avant -garde Gothic” and more metal hybrids develops into new areas of aesthetics of early albums, when they were just as a chamber ensemble as the band. The rugged, fragile structures, in which they are particularly excellent in dissonant loud passages, calls the driver a liminal metal: borderline, fleeting, evil. Kayo Dot's current work was presented in Prague for the last time in 2016-and we believe that this return will be extremely impressive.

The Uulliata Digir Pozni adapted Sumerian, took as the theme of ascension and falls from the dawn of civilization, put together a six -member line -up with two singing and pipe - and came up with one of the more remarkable records this year.
