JWW Mindshifting Bookclub: So überzeugt man mit Rhetorik

Don't just read business guides, but apply the knowledge straight away - that is the goal of the new book club of the Junge Wirtschaft Wien

Welcome to the next edition of the "Mindshifting Bookclub" of the Junge Wirtschaft Wien! The idea behind the book club: Read intelligent and exciting books that enrich everyday (work) life and then interactively discuss the content and apply what you have learned.

Book selection: Not novels, but intelligent and exciting books for yours personal and professional success.

Format: Many people read books like “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” or “The Harvard Concept”, but they quickly forget the content. In the JWW Mindshifting Book Club we don't just read the books, we also exchange ideas about them together and apply what we read interactively, so no dusty armchair circle! The JWW members Valerie Rapatz & Ayleen Cis are organizing a workshop-like discussion evening.

Your output: Deal with the book contents and find ways to implement them in your job.

By whom: Organized by Junge Wirtschaft Wien (JWW) and led by JW members Valerie Rapatz and Ayleen Cis.

For whom: JW members who want to deal with the respective book and the topic.

Book reading requirement?: It is a requirement to have read at least 50% of the book - please do not register without having read the book.

Book: "How to convince with rhetoric" by Jay Heinrichs (German-language version, original title: "Thank You for Arguing")

On October 15th we will dive together into the fascinating world of rhetoric and the art of persuasion. Look forward to a stimulating discussion in which we will explore the secrets of effective argumentation and the art of persuasion together.

In his book, Heinrichs shares valuable insights from classical and modern rhetoric and illustrates them using numerous practical examples . Our discussion will focus on the concepts of persuasion and the use of rhetorical techniques in professional and personal contexts.

We will pay particular attention to the topics of argumentation structure and the use of rhetorical devices in order to find ways together to how we can improve our communication skills and achieve our goals through convincing argumentation.
