About event
The association of friends of musical talents not only helps young Czech artists, but is also the first to present young foreign singers, laureates of major world competitions, on Czech concert stages. In January 2025, we will welcome artists in Prague whose careers were launched in 2022 and 2023 by Plácid Domingo's famous "Operália" competition.
French soprano Julie Roset charmed the Operalia jury in November 2023 with a rousing performance of Lakmé's bell aria and triumphantly won . But before that triumph, she already won a number of competitions, including the Eric and Dominique Laffont Competition at the Metropolitan Opera in 2022. OperaWire ranked her among the Top Ten Rising Stars 2023, and Julie confirms her status as a rising star with a successful guest appearance at the Opéra Comique in Paris, at the Aix Festival -en-Provence, at the Teatro Real Madrid, at the Opéra National du Rhin or in August 2023 at the Salzburg festival.
Leòn, a young American tenor of Cuban-Colombian origin, is also rapidly building an international career. He, like Julie, won two prestigious competitions: the Eric and Dominique Laffont Competition at the Metropolitan Opera in 2023 and Operalia 2022, where he also won the Don Plácido Domingo Ferrer Award in the Zarzuela category. Inland Empire Magazine awarded him the title of "Best up-and-comer" in the "Best of the Best 2019" poll.
Julie Roset and Anthony Leòn have all the prerequisites to become big international stars, don't miss their concert accompanied by the wonderful Prague Philharmonic!
